Destruction Warlocks (3.3.3)

This post is intended to help those not familiar with Destruction Warlock mechanics to get a simple overview

Spec

Suppression
Gives you more hit that you would otherwise have to get from gear/enchants/gems... generally a good choice. If you find yourself way over the hit cap, you can substitute some of these points into other stuff

Destructive Reach
Destruction has the privilege of being extremely high threat. Probably the highest of all three specs. So, you might want to go with this if you have trouble controlling yourself =)

Cataclysm
Possible talent to cut your mana costs, but you'll be Life Tapping anyhow, so mana shouldnt be a huge issue.

Shadowburn
You'll have plenty to be casting without this, as well as the fact that it doesnt provide alot of damage, not particularly worth it.

Soul Leech/Imp Soul Leech
This is the raid supportive talent set added in case you want to give more support to your raid. Many raids will have something like this in place already, but it's really up to you.

Improved Corruption
You wont really be using Corruption except maybe as something to cast if you have to run around alot. Generally, its really low on the Destro priority since it doesnt contribute to your other talent-based procs.

Improved Curse of Agony
Your Curse of Elements will be more beneficial. Mostly because your primary damage will be fire based, not shadow. But, if you happen to have a boomkin or unholy DK with you on a regular basis, this might not be a bad option. (they both have something akin to Curse of Elements, and putting up Curse of Agony in that case is just more dps you get to have!)

Glyphs
As you can see in the talent page, there glyphs given for this spec which are considered best. Other possible ones are:

Glyph of Curse of Agony
Makes this hurt more =) in a raid though where you happen to be the only Lock and you have no Boomkins or Unholy DKs, you'll probably do Curse of Elements.

Glyph of Chaos Bolt
Chaos bolt is a cool spell, but it's relatively low on the priority list as far as abilities go.

Glyph of Immolate
Glyph of Immolate would get you 10% more damage over 15 sec, and Glyph of Incinerate will get you 5% more damage every 2 sec. In the same 15 sec time frame you'd cast about 7 incinerates, each one doing 5% more damage.

Minor Glyphs
No Warlock Minor Glyphs contribute to your damage, so it's purely your choice!

Stats

Hit: you'll need 17%, or 446 hit rating (it is, however possible to get away with a little less with certain raid make-ups like having a Draenei with you, or a shadow priest or moonkin)

Spell Power: the stuff that makes the pew pew go PEW PEW!

Haste: most beneficial stat after hit and spell power

Spirit: slightly better than crit in benefit because it provides spell power.

Crit: You'll more than likely get much of it by way of gear and certain procs.

Armor: cloth (most likely with hit and/or haste and spirit)

Pet

The Doomguard does the most dps of any pet, but requires a quest chain and doesnt contribute to many deep Demo talents... See: http://www.wowwiki.com/Doomguard_(warlock_minion)

Infernals do high dps too, but only last a short time, need a quest to get it too, and again, doesnt activate the deep Demo talents... See: http://www.wowwiki.com/Infernal_(warlock_minion)

Imp is for Destro. It procs some good talents, Succubus is PvP, Fel Hound is Affliction, Void guy is for leveling/solo tanking, Fel Guard is Demo

Gems

Meta: Chaotic (+21 Crit and +3% crit dmg)
Red: Runed (+23 SP) or Veiled (+12 SP and +10 hit) if you're not hit capped
Yellow: Rigid (+20 Hit), Veiled (+12 SP and +10 Hit), Reckless (+12 SP and +10 Haste)
Blue: Purified (+12 SP and +10 Spirit)

Priority (not a rotation)

1 ) Curse of Elements (or Curse of Doom if you have the Boomkin or Unholy DK)
2 ) Immolate
3 ) Incinerate
4 ) Conflagrate
5 ) Chaos Bolt

Destruction is the closest to having an actual rotation, but essentially you want to make sure you always always always have the Immolate debuff up. Also, play around with where to Life Tap in this, the spell you'll end up casting most often (spamming even) will be incinerate.
